Education: Ph.D. (Political and Instructional Communication), The University of Oklahoma; M.A. (Communication), Pittsburg State University; and B.A. (Speech Communication, Theater, and Secondary Education), Bethel College.

Professional Experience: Associate Professor (2002 to present), School of Communication Studies, Ohio University; Associate Professor and Cassese Director of Forensics, School of Communication Studies, Ohio University (2002-2005); Assistant Professor and Director of Forensics, School of Interpersonal Communication, Ohio University (1996-2002); Director of forensics and graduate teaching assistant, Department of Communication, The University of Oklahoma; director of forensics and lecturer, Department of Communication, Pittsburg State University; adjunct instructor, Department of Communication, Missouri Southern State College; graduate teaching assistant, Department of Communication, Pittsburg State University.

Publications: Articles published in Political Communication, Contemporary Argumentation and Debate, White House Studies, Classical rhetorics and rhetoricians, History of the Mass Media in the United State: An Encyclopedia, Communication Studies, and Kansas Speech Journal; Chapters Published in Anticipating Madam President, Electronic Election: Perspectives on the 1996 Campaign Communication; Instructional video Using Visual Aids; numerous presentations at professional conventions and conferences.

Research Interests: Political communication (specifically, political advertising and gender) argumentation and public deliberation.
