Welcome to the Ohio University Forensics Team Page!  We are excited to share our love of competitive collegiate speech and debate.

Ohio University has a long history of forensics commitment.  The first on campus debate occurred in 1811, and in the nearly 200 years since, the team continues to flourish.  Ohio University prides itself on being one of the founding members of the National Forensics Association and is one of only two institutions to have attended every NFA national tournament since its inception in 1970. 

The current team is led by the John A. Cassese Director of Forensics, Dan West.  Dan has directed six national team championships and 44 individual national championships in his 20 years of coaching.  At the end of the 2008-2009 tournament season, the team had won 7 national championships, 751 individual trophies and 43 team sweepstakes trophies, including 7th at NFA, 10th at AFA, and a national championship for both IEs and combined sweepstakes at PKD.  After a long season, we are looking forward to some much needed rest before we get started again next season.  We kick things off with our high school summer camp and our new program, the Ohio Forensics Coaching Institute.
