Open Positions in the School of Communication Studies

The School of Communication Studies at Ohio University invites applications for 3 tenure-track Assistant Professor positions to commence Fall of 2010. The School of Communication Studies is housed in Ohio University’s nationally recognized Scripps College of Communication. The school offers BSC and Ph.D. degrees with approximately 550 undergraduate majors and 60 graduate students. Starting this Fall (2009) we will offer an MA focusing on organizational communication, with courses taught using a blended format. In the most recent NCA reputation study the School was ranked as a top 10 program in Health and Organizational Communication and as a top 25 program in interpersonal and rhetoric. We seek to hire colleagues who can augment our nationally recognized faculty in two areas: organizational and health communication.  Review of applications for all three positions will begin on October 1, 2009, and will continue until the position is filled.

Organizational Communication (2 Positions)

The first organizational communication position is open to any applicant who specializes in the study of organizational communication issues, regardless of methodological or theoretical orientation. For the second organizational communication position we seek applicants who specialize in the study of culture (defined broadly), globalization, and/or intercultural communication concerns within organizations.
